The DVD The Digital Versatile Disc - DVD – is a digital storage medium which looks similar to a CD, but which has a higher storage capacity and can be used for more varied purposes. The product is characterised by the outstanding image and sound quality, and the fast access times. The DVD can be used in many different ways. All playback devices are downward-compatible, i.e. standard CDs can be read without problems. With a DVD, two data layers can be stored on top of one another. This means that a single disc can have different capacities. The DVD-5 with one layer has a capacity of 4.7 GB, a DVD 9 (dual-layer DVD) of 8.5 GB. If both sides of the DVD have data written to them, even higher capacities can be achieved. We replicate the following DVD types: DVD-VIDEO: Designed to play back moving images and sound with DVD video-compatible playback devices. The outstanding image and sound quality is achieved with MPEG 2 and Dolby Digital AC-3 5.1. Features such as up to 8 different languages, up to 32 subtitles and interactive menus make the DVD an interesting medium for home entertainment. DVD-ROM: Used primarily to store computer data. This is the direct successor to the CD-ROM. DVD-AUDIO: Designed for the playback of sound in very high quality with DVD audio-compatible playback devices. The DVD audio supports high resolution sound formats and 5.1 multi-channel technology with a long playback time. A gallery of still images can be assigned to each title.
